The elections are nigh, the absurd as well.
Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw unveiled her campaign poster on Thursday, 16 October, in her bid to run for political office.
Kate yearns to represent the Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Meanwhile, reports claim that at the ‘Best of Nollywood’ Awards, held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on Thursday, Rotimi Amaechi, the host governor, apart from throwing jibes at several actresses, reportedly said he was the one who encouraged Henshaw to venture into politics.
Amaechi, apparently, failed to urge the actress to come into his party, the broom-wielding fold of the All Progressives Congress, as her campaign posters indicate she has pitched her tent under the umbrella of the ruling party.
The recent mass defection of over 3,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party into the All Progressives Congress in Cross River, wasn’t enough to convince Henshaw to contest under the major opposition party.
Amaechi can’t be too pleased with her now, we think.
Who knows; maybe his jibes of ‘giving actresses bags of money’ was intentional after all.
