Kiki Omeili is working on her first feature film “Run” and we are here for it

Kiki Omeili

First and foremost, I hope Run is a psychological thriller because I’ll scream if it’s not. It does sound like one though, and Kiki Omeili won’t want her first feature film as a producer to be remembered as another useless, patch-patch Nollywood comedy. Well…too late! Also: this picture…

Behind-the-curtain-sex is sooooo Hollywood, but if Kiki can pull it off then good. On second thought: what if a character in that picture is in grave danger, you know, like they are about to be stabbed multiple times (shivers).

Kiki has steadily be growing as an actress since 2011, and you might remember her from the drama series Lekki Wives, written and directed by Blessing Effiom Egbe, and stars alongside Keira Hewatch and Chinonso Young. Her first feature film as an actress, 2012’s Married but Living Single, Kiki was cast as the antagonistic Titi Haastrup, which also featured Funke Akindele, Joseph Benjamin and Joke Silva.

Kiki made her debut as a movie producer with the release of her short film Unprotected in 2016. And between then and now, it has allowed the actress to learn and grow in the not-too-easy field of movie production, while also starring in films like Catch.er and Gbomo Gbomo Express. In Run, she plays Tomilola Wright, who I’m going to leave a huge question mark on because no plot synopsis has been released.

Other cast members include Rotimi Salami, Greg Ojefua and comedian Owen Gee. Directed by Uche Chukwu, principal photography wrapped up on Monday and we’ll keep you updated on any new development.
