MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2011

It is always nice to see color on the runway especially at a time when colour blocking is bang on trend. This collection had plenty of it, in silhouettes that were fitting. There were playsuits, kaftans, tank and baby doll dresses,  in easy to wear fabrics styled with chunky necklaces and earrings.

The cream coloured Peplum dress is very ‘this season in high fashion circles. The style made a debut at the 2011 London autumn/winter collection of Moschino and Preen. It’s definitely a name that would echo throughout this season.

Glamour like that was what this collection lacked, and it could have used a good dose of it.Where the collection pushed the envelope a bit was with a knee-length kaftan sparsely beaded with sequins.
