Nigeria on Saturday celebrated its 56th independence anniversary. President Muhammadu Buhari in his independence address said his administration will not allow temporary problems divert it from the ultimate goal of tackling the country’s salient challenges.

4. Budget Padding: Dogara threatened lawmakers with running cost to get support – Jibrin

Former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin has yet again open another pandora box, despite being recently suspended for 180 days.

Jibrin on Saturday in his own ‘independence address’ revealed that members of the House received N10 million to N20 million monthly as running cost.

He further alleged that Speaker Yakubu Dogara threatened members of the House with the running cost to gain their support, a day before resumption of the lawmakers.
