1. Dangote ranked 68th on Forbes list of world’s most powerful persons

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has been named as the 68th most powerful person in the world.

Dangote who had consistently made the list since 2013 was ranked the second most powerful in Africa just behind Egyptian President, Abdel el-Sisi.

2. Two female suicide bombers killed in Maiduguri checkpoint

The Police Public Relations Officer, Borno Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP) Victor Isuku on Monday said two female suicide bombers were killed at a military checkpoint in Maiduguri, the state capital.

3. ‘Buhari begins plans to reshuffle cabinet next year’

There are indications that come next year, there would be major shakes up in President Buhari’s cabinet.

According to reports, Buhari has informed the Senate about his decision to reshuffle his cabinet.

Russia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov was on Monday killed at a photo exhibition in Ankara.

Karlov, was shot by a gunman while delivering a speech.

5. Economic recession will fade in 2017 – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed optimism that the current economic recession will recede in 2017.

Buhari made the remark on Monday in Abuja while declaring open an induction course organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Nigerian Career Ambassadors-designate who were recently cleared by the Senate.
