1. Cynthia Osokogu’s killers sentenced to death

A Lagos High Court, Igbosere on Thursday sentenced to death two men found guilty of murdering Miss Cynthia Osokogu on July 22, 2012.

2. Senate rejects 82-year-old ambassadorial nominee, approves 45 others

The senate on Thursday rejected 82-year-old, Justice Sylvanus Nsofor as a non-career ambassador on account of being too old.

3. Buhari sends names of INEC RECs to Senate for confirmation

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday forwarded the names of 28 nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to the Senate for confirmation.

4. Saraki’s impounded vehicle was not budgeted for by N’Assembly – Falana

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has accused the Senate of trying to punish Comptroller General of Customs Hameed Ali.

Falana said the vehicle belonging to the Senate President which was impounded by the Service was not in the National Assembly budget.

5. Nigerian teenager becomes first black student to build a nuclear fusor

Sixteen-year-old Nigerian teenager, Steven Udotong, has invented a nuclear energy fusor, making him the first black student to attain such feat.
