The Nigerian entertainment scene has again lost one of its precious gems Bukky Ajayi to the cold hands of death.

The legendary actress passed on moments ago at the age of 82 as a result of heart-related complications.

In memory of her exceptional talent, we remember when she was honoured at the 2016 AMVCA with the Lifetime achievement award in March.

“You all standing for me? – If I stand up, I will fall down, that is why I’m sitting down’, legendary actress and immaculate thespian, Bukky Ajayi quipped, as she sat strong in her wheelchair, quelling the urge to stand triumphantly and gaze over the heads of the audience- with pride- as she accepted her Industry Merit Award, for a lifetime of distinguished service, to the art of movie making.

With old age comes fresh wisdom and perspective- Ajayi exemplified such, when she quipped: ‘All those who I have offended, forgive me. May God bless you very much.’

Overwhelmed with emotions, failing to fight off tears, Bukky Ajayi signed out with ‘Peace’.”
