Kaduna LG chairman Abba also wants to cut salary by half

Another politician has decided to half his salary.

The interim chairman of Kudan local government area in Kaduna State, Dauda Abba, released a press statement today to announce his decision to cut his pay by 50%.

He will be the first chairman to officially do this.

He said the decision to slash his salary is a cost-cutting measure which has become imperative considering the economic realities of Kudan Local Government Area.

He therefore appealed to other members of his team, particularly the interim councilors to emulate his decision.

Abba further said that Kudan will lead the way in enhancing transparency in the way the local lovernment resources are being spent.

“As a first step, we shall be publishing all our proceeds in terms of allocation and other accrued revenues regularly.

“How these proceeds are being spent shall always be subjected to public knowledge. As we are in the public service to serve the public. Therefore, public funds must be subjected to public scrutiny,” he added.
