A 24-year-old Liberian woman, Teddy Jallah, was on Tuesday charged and acquitted for fighting in a nightclub.

The defendant, who is unemployed and resides at Ajegunle area of Tarkwa Bay, Lagos Island, is facing a charge of disorderly conduct to which she pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Oladejo Balogun, told the court that Jallah committed the offense at 2a.m. on May 21 at Lambada Nightclub, Tarkwa Bay.

He said the defendant got into a fight in the nightclub, when one Gabriel Oke rejected her friend, Gloria Bah’s request to sit at his table, “Jallah’s friend, Gloria, who is also a Liberian, wanted to sit at Gabriel’s table at the nightclub. Gabriel, who was at the table with his wife Jina and some friends, refused Gloria sitting with them.

“Gabriel’s action made Gloria to punch him, which led to the free-for-all, with Jallah joining her friend in the fight.”

Balogun said Jallah was stabbed in her left hand during the fight and her action caused a breach of public peace.
