Like Buhari, like Okorocha: Imo state ministries slashed in half

Borrowing a leaf from the page of President Muhammadu Buhari, who reduced the Federal ministries to 24, the Imo State Government has also slashed the number of State ministries from 22 to 13.

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, revealed this on Friday, after a meeting with the Permanent Secretaries at the Government House in Owerri.

Okorocha, speaking through the state’s Head of Service, Calistus Ekenze, explained that the development is part of the plan to restructure the civil service and make it more efficient and effective.

He added that the government needs to cut the down on cost of governance, due to the dwindling revenue allocation and inwardly generated revenue of the state.
