Etisalat Nigeria boosts adopted school with modern learning facilities (PHOTOS)

Secondary school education received a boost when Etisalat Nigeria donated Information and Communication Technology (ICT), laboratory and educational facilities to two of its adopted schools in Lagos State. The schools are Akande Dahunsi Memorial Junior and Senior High Schools in Ikoyi.

The equipment donated include apparatuses for the biology, chemistry and physics laboratories, projector, laptops, a router and provision of free internet access to the senior school’s computer laboratory for 12 months in the first instance which will promote an environment conducive for learning.

Speaking at the formal handover of the equipment to schools, Director, Regulatory and CSR, Etisalat Nigeria, Ikenna Ikeme said the gesture was part of Etisalat’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme under the Etisalat Adopt-A-School initiative.

He said, “Education is one of our key CSR pillars at Etisalat, and we are very happy to be associated with developments in the educational sector. Etisalat is passionate about creating an all-inclusive qualitative education; this is why we are providing these facilities to Akande Dahunsi Memorial Junior and Senior High Schools which we have adopted since 2009”.

Principal, Akande Dahunsi Memorial Senior High School, Mrs. Olayinka Badejo, on behalf of teachers and students expressed gratitude to Etisalat for their consistency and commitment to the schools since it adopted them in 2009.
