List of the Day: Odds & ends from the web

by Ore Fakorede

In today’s list: Rihanna shoots a man, a little kid gives a grown-up motivational speech, violent farm animals takeover Google’s Chrome browser, Mortal Kombat is invaded by a corrupt Russian official, Eminem features on a new mixtape and Coldplay returns to the airwaves.

1. Watch: Pop singer Rihanna stirs up yet another storm of controversy with the music video of ‘Man Down, a single from her ‘Loud’ album. Sexual abuse is at the centre of this whirlwind and yes, Chris Brown‘s name has come up a few too many times.

2: See: After learning to ride a bicycle, this cute little boy is inspired to give the speech of his life.

3. Play: The world’s most addictive mobile game has landed on the PC via the Chrome browser. The vengeful fowls in Angry Birds have been blamed for everything from home accidents to low productivity in the work environment. Play at your own risk.

4. Download: Ten years since they last collaborated, rap maven Eminem and fellow Detroit MC Royce Da 5’9” reunite as hip-hop duo Bad Meets Evil on the ‘Hell: The Sequel” EP. Cop it for free while you can.

5. View: In a brilliantly animated spoof, Mortal Kombat character Sub-Zero takes on a corrupt Russian politician. Guess who bleeds money when he is hit. LOL.

6. Listen: It looks like Coldplay’s fifth studio album is in the can and edging towards release. The British alternative rock band serves up its best sounds since 2008’s ‘Viva La Vida’ on ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’, the official first single from the still untitled upcoming album. You’ll play this song every day till June ends.
