Loading… The Future Awards/Taruwa Creative Town Hall Meeting

by Stanley Azuakola

The Future Awards Season 7 is officially here. This season’s edition of the awards is themed “Tear down these walls.”

On Friday June 22, a well received Innovators and Entrepreneurs Town Hall Meeting was organised in conjunction with the Co-creation Hub, Lagos. Next up, is a Creative Town hall meeting to be held on Tuesday June 26 in partnership with popular culture forum, Taruwa. The theme of the meeting is “Hope and Courage.”

According to the organisers of the event, the theme was carefully chosen because of the belief that the twin traits of hope and courage are required to tear down any wall. Questions or issues concerning The Future Awards, its processes, how to participate and many more, will be addressed in that meeting. There would also be featured music, poetry, acting and spoken word performances, which would all be centred on the theme.

The event will take place tomorrow evening at the Bogobiri House, No 9 Maitama Sule, Off Awolowo Road, Ikoyi by 6.30pm. Of special interest to the creative minds expected at the Future Awards/Taruwa Town Hall are the following award categories: Creative Artist of the year, designer of the year, actor of the year, musician of the year, on-air personality (radio), on-air personality (TV), Producer of the year (music) and producer of the year (screen).

The purpose of these town hall meetings is to generate the best nominations in the various categories as well as stimulating purposive discussions about growth and depth in relevant sectors especially for young people. After Tuesday’s meeting, there’ll be others in Abuja, Ife, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Awka.
