Internet commenters, and those pesky ones in the forums have begun to tear into the publishers of House of Maliq magazine (a magazine title that still confuses us) – and all for what? They claim it wasn’t fair to put musician and Copyright Society of Nigeria executive, Azeezat on the same cover with the endlessly photogenic Yvonne Nelson.

According to entertainment and arts columnist, Joy Isi Bewaji – “If Azeezat’s publicist had half-a-brain, s/he would insist that her client should not be placed beside Yvonne Nelson on a magazine cover. It is not that Ms. Nelson is prettier, no! She’s a dolled-up kind of girl; literarily has a shrine near her mirror where she worships her looks (or lack of it); that is what she sells- superficiality; whereas Azeezat is coming out of a long hiatus and is clearly trying to sell a more sober yet reflective brand with depth. So this PR right here takes major points off Azeezat’s brand and puts her in a very unflattering position with the audience, which is going to take another photo-shoot or a hot new song to redeem.”
