Makida Moka: Red- Because the best things in life are free

Virgin Airline has just launched a new plane and YNaija’s special reporter, Makida Moka has shared photos of her fun experience.

When the trip began…

Makida is one of the first people in the world to experience flying in Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The plane has been named ‘Birthday Girl’  in celebration of the 30 years of Virgin Atlantic existence.

The crew flew from Lagos to London and then from London to Atlanta 🙂.

Makida will be attending  the World of Coca Cola tour soon and also bringing us photos from the official launch party for the  virgin atlantic 787 flight.

See some photos below:

I’m loving the break from the Lagos Heat. It’s 11 degrees in London today. #loveit. Keeping warm with my colours, knit and leather. #no heat #elevendegrees #YNaijaSpecialReporter #London #makidamoka #livingmylifelikeitsgolden

Her words:

I didn’t even know I was going. There’s something they say about being prepared so you don’t have to get prepared? I guess this is/was my situation. Getting visas just in case is a good thing.

Anyway, Virgin Atlantic is going on its first ever direct trip to Atlanta, Georgia from London on the 23rd of October 2014. Not only that, they are launching their new aircraft 787 (it’s a massive plane) on the same day.

Double Whammy! It’s history and I get to be part of history. Love it!

So to be on flight 787, I had to get to London. Of course Virgin Atlantic took care of that. I flew Upper Class, It was amazing!

Chairs that recline all the way back, they turn into beds if that’s what you want. Foot stools because how dare those upper class feet of yours be on the craft ground. Personal monitors so that you can move and tilt them the way you want to.

It’s obvious that the comfort of the passenger is paramount to the people of Virgin Atlantic. Not forgetting the upper class lounge which is excellent.

What really got me about the flight was the attention to the detail everything had. From the way your table is set and the food is presented, meanwhile, the little salt and pepper shakers that are in the shape of aeroplanes are so awesome. The boards that separate each section have crystal-like stones on them, so they look pretty and not boring.

The cabin crew are very friendly and most helpful. One of the crew even gave me the salt and pepper shakers as souvenirs because I really liked them.

I love the new uniforms they have designed by Vivienne Westwood. Complete with the handbag. So Chic!

The flight was an excellent one. Three-course meal which was delicious! I ate everything I was offered because it all looked so good.

I couldn’t really fall asleep so I watched a movie 22 Jump Street, played who wants to be a millionaire for a little while and ate some more.

Can’t wait to be on flight 787 to Atlanta! I’ll be there for two days. The schedule is fun. I get to go to the world of Coca cola and attend the launch party of the new flight 787 aircraft and the New route from London to Atlanta. I hear Sir Richard Branson is going to be there!
