The Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has condemned the attack on the campaign office of its candidate in the forthcoming election, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).
Jegede’s office was allegedly attacked by security men of Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, candidate of the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party.
The Makarfi faction is a series of tweets called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to investigate the incident.
“We condemn in its entirety the actions of Barr Jimoh’s police men that attacked and injured our members at Eyitayo Jegede’s campaign office.
“This is sad and we call on the IGP to investigate and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book to forestall breakdown of law.
“We call on our members in Ondo State to remain calm and must not retaliate as we await the outcome of the Police investigation.”
