Marwa, supporters defect to PDP in Adamawa

Former military governor of Lagos state, Rtd. Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa who is also a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa has formally defected to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with his teeming supporters.

The defection came as a result of complaints of Marwa’s supporters in Yola, saying they were being marginalised in the APC. Read more….

Obasanjo says he has forgiven Atiku and others who wronged him

Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo in reaction to the request of Northern Youth Leaders Forum, (NLYF) to forgive his former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, said he has forgiven him.

This was stated by Obasanjo after a 2-day meeting with the forum in Abeokuta aid he had also forgiven  other persons perceived to have offended him. Read more….

Armed soldiers raid Al-Mustapha’s residence

One of the residences of Hamza Al Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha was raided by armed men believed to be soldiers on Friday evening, at Durbin Katsina, Kano metropolis, leaving in its wake sordid tales of rights violation and molestation.

The heavily armed men, who reportedly came in trucks and  tanks,  allegedly cordoned  several streets leading to the house and seized the occupants who were mostly women and children in an operation that lasted 60 minutes. Read more….

Fire: Lagos to begin enforcement of building law

The Lagos State Government has threatened severe sanctions against any individual or organisation that fails to abide by its Urban and Regional Planning Development Law.

Speaking at a seminar on mitigating the risk of fire and other allied risks on the insurance sector, organised by Continental Alarm Limited, Mr. Adebiyi Mabadeje, the State Commissioner of Science and Technology, said that government is worried about the incessant fire incidents in the state and the attendant loss of lives and properties. Abuja Attempted jailbreak: UK cautions citizens in travel alert 

The UK Foreign Office has advised British citizens in Abuja to maintain “heightened vigilance’’ following the foiled jailbreak at the Abuja headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The revised travel alert on Nigeria was posted on the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) website on Sunday.

It was updated few hours after the DSS confirmed that it had foiled an attempted jailbreak by insurgents detained at the Asokoro headquarters of the security outfit.Read more….
