MASSOB warns, threatens South East, South South lawmakers over…

Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Solomon Chukwu has warned South-East and South-South lawmakers to refrain from supporting the proposed grazing reserve bill.

The MASSOB leader said the lawmakers found to be supporting the bill would be held responsible for the tragedy wrought in the zones by herdsmen.

Speaking through the group’s national director of information, Sunday Okereafor, the MASSOB leader said the federal lawmakers would find themselves to blame, should they support the bill.

“As far as I am concerned, the South-East, South-South nomenclatures are new political designs. What I know is that all the states in the South-East and the South-South are states in the same region.”

“What I am saying in essence is that the herdsmen should leave the eastern region alone. For all I care, they can go to any other place with their cattle.”

“MASSOB is a non-violent organisation. However, how can the eastern region that had taken care of the country’s economy for many years in the past be neglected?”

“Because the oil exploitation in the area has made the land in the area unfertile, the region should have been adequately compensated over time. I fervently maintain that the area should have been long compensated. The Federal Government should know this.”
