It was just earlier this week that Katy Perry and John Mayer finally confirmed they were dating, after Katy was heard describing him as her ‘boyfriend’.

And it seems, now the cat’s out of the bag, the couple couldn’t wait to flaunt their new love in public.

Katy and John were seen heading to a restaurant in New York on Saturday in what appeared to be coordinated outfits, with purple being the uniting theme.

The 28-year-old was seen carrying a card in her hand and a bottle of whiskey as they arrived.

The pop star carried the bottle in one hand, while in the other she carried a deep red coloured bag.

The accessory worked perfectly with the rest of the hues of her outfit – a purple dress with a midnight blue leather jacket and multicoloured scarf.

The singer wore a pair of lace up black boots and while the rest of her look was smart/casual, she certainly appeared to be wearing a fair amount of make-up.

Katy wore her long hair with a slight wave in it with and a side parting, which was clipped to one side.

Her boyfriend, John Mayor, really complimented her look, wearing a blue blazer with a purple jumper and red tie beneath.

He wore his trademark curly hair slicked back off his face.

Despite the fact the couple made their romance public on Wednesday night as they attended a Rolling Stones concert in New Jersey, they didn’t appear to be in the best of moods.

The singer, who was once married to Russell Brand, was spotted flying into New York on Saturday morning looking exhausted.

Dressed in a tracksuit as she arrived, she managed to turn it around before dinner with her man that evening.
