South African fashion label, MaXhosa by Laduma, has been announced as the winner of this year’s Vogue Talents competition. The pattern-loving unisex label beat 11 designers, including favourites like Nigeria’s Orange Culture and Ivory Coast’s Loza Maléombho for the coveted title.

The label’s creative director, Laduma Ngxokolo is a Central Saint Martins-trained talent who finds his inspiration in historic South African figures like Nelson Mandela and Credo Mutwa. The win means that he will present his pieces at Milan’s Palazzo Morando this September, and again at Africa International Fashion Week in Lagos this December.
