The Media Blog: Men’s Corner on ELTV is a fine show – and it confirmed Andre Blaze is still one of our best

Andre Blaze is one of the finest on-air talents in Nigeria. Why Nigerian producers and content creators don’t seem to know is truly beyond us.

Nigezie, which sadly went away from the spotlight, was the network that introduced us to him, and it sadly appears that as it went away, it took him with it.

Control, elocution, spontaneity and flair – he has everything you need, and takes change of his shows whatever they are. He is also one of that small group of people that includes Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that can handle the mundane as best as the sublime – holding down an interview with anyone from Iyanya to Dangote with competence.

ELTV, which has struggled a bit with presenters that connect, has finally figured out what we have always known – and launched a new show ‘Men’s Corner’ with Andre as host. It certainly helps that its basically anchored by three of the most intelligent male talent across the airwaves – including Ebuka and Mazino (who we hear has left radio for GTBank).

See an episode below. We think it’s a well-produced show, even though we know its open to criticism for dodgy accents, over-flogged issues and The Spot-scale laziness.

Maybe we are just incurable fans of Andrew sha.
