Soul songstress Yinka Davies recently made a comeback on the music arena as a judge on the Etisalat sponsored Nigerian Idol. Yinka came to prominence nearly two decades ago as the lead singer of Lagbaja’s band, and as over the years, other artistes have branched out into more popular genres of music, Yinka has since stayed true to her jazz/soul roots.
Late last year, to the delight of her fans and lovers of soul, Yinka released Black Chiffon, on the EniObanke record label. The soul artist cordially invites you to her album signing on Saturday, 12th March 2011, at The Jazzhole, 168 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos from 12 noon. The album is aptly described by cdbaby.com as a compilation of “smooth, sleek home-grown music meshing African roots music with swinging jazz, blues, soul and afrobeat, and a stunningly sonorous voice that touches the soul.”
