The debut edition of the Lagos BBQ Series came to life on Tuesday the 23rd of February, 2016 and Lagos no doubt stood still for the birth of a brand new mega-event.
Headlined by rapper and Chocolate City CEO MI Abaga served its purpose as the rapper connected with his fans and they got to see MI in a different light from the enigmatic rapper who graces our screens and bursts our brains with flows upon flows.
Lagos BBQ Series also known as LBBQS is basically a meet, relate & flenjor between fans & their favourite Celeb. It happened in a cozy environment and fans as well as invited guests had an up close interactive evening with MI.
The evening started with MI, Organizers, vendors & Sponsors studio moments just as energetic Red carpet anchor Cee Classic was holding it down on the Red carpet. Cee Classic marveled the evening crowd when the fans ensured he dared Mr Incredible himself to sit on the red carpet for 5 seconds which the award-winning rapper gladly did for his fans.
A brief fun interview session took place with LBBQS hosts Dola & Dapo drilling The Chairman with questions he definitely would never have expected and he was also wowed with a splendid performance from 8 year old child star Jenyo Atoloye of Rosecroft Preparatory School who put up a sax performance Yemi Sax would grin at.
The show climaxed with Arewa from a recently concluded music reality show performing MI’s One Naira while MI himself took charge of the piano as they both combined to really heartwarming effect, maybe a remix with her won’t be bad.
The LBBQS garden was opened up with MI been presented the LBBQS souvenir, a customized apron. Chef MI went on to grill before everyone and he even in the process nominated Banky W, Bovi and Toolz as celebrities he’ll love to see on the next edition of the show.
Delicious Hot & Spicy BBQ Chicken grills & finger foods from Grind Grills Outdoor with protein supplies from Benox Farm, Shawarma by Grills Chop & Small Chops by Delicacies plus were flowing all through.
Also refreshing drinks coming from Cocktails in & out, Fresh Juice from Fontaine De Vie & Water from Etana and then finally, sumptuous desserts from Ohlala kept fueling our systems.
The cozy environment allowed for fans to network & take loads of selfies with soft music from DJ Skills.
The event was produced by 1908, A4 films, FullHouse, Matrix & Design Works, Crystalswish styled and outfits were provided by Orijo deals, Vivi Fashion & Bumi Deju. Security was provided by Spartan, MI’s souvenir was framed by Rottit Resources & Multimedia was by Stretch Audiovisuals.
