Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray was found guilty on November 7, 2011 of involuntary manslaughter over the death of the King of Pop in 2009. The  six-week trial took place in Los Angeles, southern California and there was reports of people crying in the courtroom, while MJ fans were cheering outside. Dr Murray himself gave no reaction when the long-awaited verdict was announced.

YNaija took to the street to hear what people had to say about the verdict. You can also join in the discussion by posting your comment.

Jennifer Onu: Conrad Murray was only found guilty because it was Micheal Jackson.

Clara Ukuaghe, Teacher: Conrad Murray got paid mad money from Micheal Jackson , he did not kill nobody. They just want another black man locked up in jail.

Mrs Bola Ojo, Civil Servant: I won’t judge anybody, but with all these witnesses standing up in the trial, couldn’t they have reported all that they said they noticed before Micheal Jackson died?

Gideon, commercial rider: I no too follow the trial but the doctor sef na wicked man, why e no tell anybody say Michael condition don dey critical? If i be the judge I go hang am.

Blessing Etim, Student: For me, I would say it’s the will of God, only that someone always have to suffer.

Adeseun Akeem, youth corp member: Conrad Murray is a killer, he took Michael away from us. If you knew He was overworking himself, couldn’t you have warned his family? At least if he had done that, maybe Michael’s family wouldn’t have sued him.

John Nduka, pastor: Michael Jackson didn’t deserve to die, and the doctor doesn’t  deserve to go to jail. I can’t say he is innocent, because I wasn’t there, but all these things are very clear to God our maker. The thing about Americans is that, after they sentence the doctor, someone else would come out later and say he actually killed Micheal or there would be another angle to the case. What we should think about is that, would Michael have forgiven Dr Conrad? I rest my case.

There would be more updates as we get more reactions from the street.
