The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has revealed that it will have to let comedian, Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe, go if after his third excretion since being held under observation by the agency, no drugs are ejected. The Director General of the agency confirmed that the comedian who was arrested last Wednesday, October 12, has gone through two excretion without pushing out any illicit substance suspected to be in his system.

“As far as the NDLEA is concerned, so far Baba Suwe is innocent,” Femi Ajayi, the agency’s Director General said. “If after the third excretion and we don’t find anything, we will have to let him go.”

He further stated that Baba Suwe is only being held under observation and not detained. “This is a standard procedure; we have reasons to suspect he has ingested some drugs, so we are only observing him.”

Ajayi also revealed that a computerized tomography scan has been carried out on the comedian and a result, which will also help fast track investigations, is expected soon.

Omidina was arrested on Wednesday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at about 10pm while he was about to board an Air France aircraft to Paris.
