After weeks of feverish anticipation, former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has finally been screened at the senate.

There was drama during the entire process, with Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio saying the Peoples Democratic Party will not ask him any question because petitions against him had just been received.

Majority Leader, Ali Ndume retorted, saying Amaechi should be allowed to bow and go, if there were no questions for him.

In the process, he made a blunder, by describing PDP senators as ‘This people’.

This led to a few minutes of heated exchange between the Senators of PDP and All Progressives Congress.
