Mo’Cheddah, Oge Okoye, Denrele walk the runway for HIV/AIDS at Project Red show

by Yemi Olowu

The organisers of the Project Red Art Exhibiton/Art Auction/Celebrity Walk had one aim – to use the power of fashion and art to bring awareness to the plight of those with HIV/AIDS. The event, which held on 27th February, 2011 at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki was a showcase of musical performances from Tolu and Ochuko of Project Fame, and fashion collections from Wana Sambo, Divalukky, Fablane by Derin and others. Celebrities closed shows for different fashion labels – Oge Okoye for Fablane by Derin, Derenle and Ochuko for Buttons Couture, Mo’Cheddah for iamISIGO and Mr Nigeria, Kenneth Okolie for Prima Rouge.

Guests such as Ben Murray Bruce, Gbenro Ajibade, Mutay Endell, Yvonne Ekwere, Freeze, Terence Sambo, Oyinye Fafi Obi, Ngozi Odalonu, Dimeji Alara, Yinka Epega and Karen Young attended the event to show their support for Project Red’s noble cause. The event also featured an eye-opening talk on HIV/AIDS and its effect on individuals and the society, with a climax that had persons with HIV/AIDS walk the runway, driving home the message of The Project Red team in powerful way.
