Monster: Boy, 15, accused of raping 3 children, including a 10-month-old baby

A 15-year-old boy (name withheld) has been remanded in prison custody by an Upper Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State on Friday for the alleged rape of three children including a 10-month-old baby.

The accused who lives in  Rafin Kwara Masaka, was charged for an alleged defilement of  a six-year-old girl, who is the sister to the 10-month-old baby and also an eight-year-old girl, all living in the same house.

Joseph Ahua, the police prosecutor told the court that the matter was reported by the parents of the victims at at Masaka Police Station on September 12.

He said that the accused was arrested and during police investigation he confessed to committing the offence.

He said that the offence contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code.

“Whoever has canal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 14 years and shall also be liable to fine,’’ the Penal Code reads.

The accused, pleaded not guilty to the charge, and his counsel, Mr R.N. Mbu applied for his bail.

The presiding officer, Mr Vincent Gwehemba, however, refused the bail application and ordered the accused to be remanded in prison pending final investigation on the matter.

He adjourned the case till Oct. 16 for further hearing.
