A man in Kogi was arrested by police in the state after reports that he killed his friend after an argument over a car.

29-year-old James Onoja is said to have taken his friend’s life by beating him to death with a hammer.

The suspect told the police that he had been possessed by the devil and did not understand what he was doing at the time of the murder.

Leadership reports:

Onoja admitted that the friend followed him from Abuja to his father’s compound in Ogugu, Olamaboro local government area of the state on the night of March 14, 2014, with the intention to snatch his car but could not say what came over him, forcing him to use a hammer to pummel his friend till he died.

According to a police source, the suspect who is currently being detained would soon be charged to court for murder.
