Mother of triple twins gets more support from government

It seems to be the month for the mother of three sets of twins, whose husband and father of the children absconded recently, from their Agege, Lagos home.

Mrs. Ruth Uche, 34,  has continued to receive help from Nigerians, both at home and in Diaspora.

Only last week, Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode approved the immediate rehabilitation and provision of welfare assistance to Mrs Uche when she took her plight to the state government secretariat, Alausa.

Now the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa has put an effort.

He visited the Uches at their Agege residence at the weekend to present food items, beverages and undisclosed cash to the woman.

The speaker, while rejoicing with the woman for the safe delivery of another set of twins, said, “We should continue to thank God.”

Describing children as gifts from God, Obasa urged Uche to always give thanks to God in whatever situation she finds herself.

While assuring Mrs. Uche of state government’s assistance, he advised residents to always make use of the health facilities provided by the state as they were built for their use and to improve their health.

Mrs. Uche expressed appreciation to the governor and the speaker, saying she was overwhelmed with joy at the gesture and the visit.

“I’m overwhelmed with joy at this visit and I pray to God to always be with you and continue to bless you,” she said.
