Former Manchester United manager, David Moyes, has called on fans of the club to be patient with new boss Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-1 at Old Trafford by Swansea on Saturday, as the Premier League season kicked off.
Moyes, who was in a similar position last year, but recorded a 4-1 win over the Welsh side, said: “Louis van Gaal will need the time to do the job as well. He’ll need to have that opportunity to change things and get a team he wants.”
The Scot also pointed out the competitive nature of the league, as the reason why United lost their first game of the season, for the first time since 1972.
“What happened today happened to me against West Brom, Newcastle, and Everton last year,” he added.
“Every team in the Premier League is very organised now and quite often it’s the special players that win you the games.”
