Abosede Ojelabi has filed a divorce case against her husband, Monsuru Ojelabi, before the Agege Customary Court, Agege.

According to her, Monsuru abandoned her for six years when she was sick. She said that he always borrows money from her and would not pay back, even when he has money. She complained that, because of her husband, she has been arrested several times.

She claimed that he does not cater for her needs or that of the children. She said that he is always beating her and fighting her family members, saying that whenever he calls her elder siblings the way he talks to them is disrespectful and sometimes out rightly rude.

She also stated that her husband is a chronic liar; she added that she is the one taking care of every need in the home. She wants the court to dissolve the union.

The respondent, Monsuru Ojelabi, said that because of his wife, his landlord gave him quit notice. He said that his wife drinks too much and uses charms to make money.

He claimed that she is adulterous, and she dated a bus driver that he knows. He said that she left the house since January and has not returned since then.

He claimed that he takes care of his children and he is not owing her any money. He also wants the court to dissolve the  union. The case was hereby adjourned till  Tuesday 10th September 2013.
