@GobePassword, a Twitter handle owned by a yet to be identified individual yesterday posted a comment online claiming that the music superstar and the self-acclaimed ‘Omo baba olowo‘ himself, Davido recorded and released his song, ‘Gobe’, without getting his approval.
I am the real owner of the Gobe track http://t.co/X3JuutKK54

The handle tweeted: “@iam_davido Why will you steal my song, and claim that i sold it to you? have we ever met before?
“I did not do any deal with @iam_davido and @iam_shizzi, My MGT will press charges!” he tweeted.
This is theft of intellectual property

Apparently aware of the tweets accusing him of intellectual theft, Davido replied describing the owner of the handle as an impostor.
He tweeted:
@GobePassword ur labe impersonating some1else wen u suppose dey find monii lol Who ever you are God bless u

We are not sure what deal, if any, there is between Davido and the unidentified tweeter, but in a battle between an unknown personality and an international music superstar, the fight sure favours the star. See ‘Gobe’!

@Isi Esene, I am disappointed and embarrassed by your journalism! You wrote this piece as though Davido’s alleged theft of intellectual property is justifiable because he’s a star. huh??! How would you feel if you laboured to research and write an article and Times Magazine published it without giving you credit as the writer and paying for it??? If at all any warped thinking can consider that justifiable, it is just a darn shame!
IP is serious business and the notoriety of a thief can NEVER justify theft! If Davido likes, let him be as popular as JayZ or as rich as Rockefeller. A thief is a thief and it will come back to bite him! Shame!
