86-year-old Ijaw leader and former Information Minister, Edwin Clark has married popular medical doctor, Abisola Sodipe Akindeko, 53, on Sunday March 17.

There were two ceremonies, one at his home in Apapa and the other at the bride’s home at Okupe Estate in Maryland, online reports hold.

There were notable Ijaw  figures present as well as Akindeko’s family and friends.

Akindeko had reportedly lost two of her children Adeife and Akinola Sodipo-Akindeko who were killed during an alleged robbery attempt on the convoy of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello in 2003. But five years later, Akindeko had told reporters that her children were not killed by armed robbers but by hired assassins whose target was Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello.“They were not armed robbers,” she said.

Akindeko who used to be best friends with Iyabo had been riding in her own car with Iyabo while her children were murdered in Iyabo’s car.
