The successor of Ayo Oritsejafor as President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has been announced.

Appointed as Oritsejafor’s replacement is the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), Reverend Supo Ayokunle.

Ayokunle emerged the new president of CAN on Tuesday, June 14.

The Reverend defeated Elder Joseph Otubu of the Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (MCCSW) with 54 votes to 28.

Outgoing CAN President, Oritsejafor, announced the result at the Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
