Oh Piracy! Why have you bitten Saidi Balogun in the behind?

Saidi Balogun is allegedly licking his wounds over the pirated release of his new flick, ‘You and I’.

The actor/movie producer, reportedly said he borrowed millions to fund the movie, which has now suffered a recurring menace of the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood.

He said, “You or I’ has been pirated. I am in serious debt now. The marketer of the movie, Adikaz and I are confused at the moment because we’re yet to come to terms on how the evil deed was done despite being very careful. Those pirates have wrecked their havoc again.

Balogun, who says he put in so much into the movie, is far from happy over the development. “It’s painful, very sad. I am not happy at the moment. All my labour and resources have wasted,” Balogun said.

He confirmed that the movie had indeed been pirated, with a post on his Facebook page on Saturday, 9 August.

He wrote: “This is no notify the public that in less than one week of releasing my latest movie, You or I. The all-Caucasian movie has been massively pirated. The pirated copies are now being circulated has part 1&2. The ORIGINAL COPY is a 2 HOURS MOVIE with a PLASTIC JACKET as against the part 1&2 being circulated by these devilish people . Please ensure that you buy the original copies and kindly report anyone suspected to be selling the pirated copies to security agents.”
