Kaneka Corporation Japan, makers of fibre held the second edition of the glamorous Kanekalon Night of Thousand Braids on Friday, 25 November, with the brand ambassador, Stephanie Okereke in attendance amongst industry leaders’, high society and celebrities at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites Victoria Island.

The purpose of this event was to celebrate the many women in Nigeria who have made Kanekalon a part of their lives over the years, and created fashionable hair styles using the product. In its effort to develop a more effective relationship with its customers, the 1,000 braids special event helps bridge the gap between Kaneka Corporation and the women of Nigeria. It is rewarding and entertaining for Kanekalon customers and Kaneka Corporation is proud to be playing this important role in the Nigerian economy, the company said.

“We have always held our consumers close to our heart by bringing out their true beauty and we feel this event is the best platform where we can demonstrate our appreciation towards them,” said Executive Officer of Kaneka Corporation, Hidesuki Amachi.

Major highlights of the event included a performance by the sensational Mo Hit artiste Dr Sid, a fashion show by reputable fashion designers from the stable of Regalia, Modela and Richlooks fashion houses, a hair show segment managed by Salon de Eve the winner of last year’s Kanekalon Braids Parade.

Other attractions were hair clinic presentation by the CEO of Studio One Plus and makeup tips by Bayo Adeagbe, an outstanding dance drama choreographed by Black Image dance group and live band entertainment was provided by Terrymore International which made the event extremely enjoyable and full of fun. “I am very happy to endorse 100% Kanekalon hair extension. Kaneka Corporation operates to the highest standards of hair extensions,” Stephanie Okereke said.

Kaneka Corporation has been actively participating in the hair industry/market starting from last year’s regional hair competition which was initiated to reward hair stylists across Nigeria: ‘Kanekalon Naija Hair Parade’, an initiative celebrating Nigeria’s 50th Independence Anniversary through a hair competition.  This year, 2011 saw yet another success with the just concluded salon storm which reached over 30,000 salon guests’, and this second edition of Kanekalon Night of thousand braids.
