Let us start this post by saying no one should ever be subject to abuse or harm for who they choose to vote in any electoral exercise.

But rather unfortunately, Twitter users of the Igbo ethnic stock have been forced to defend themselves after being subjected to online bullying and abuse for ‘voting for President Goodluck Jonathan’.

This trending topic is even more baffling as official results of Saturday’s elections are  yet to be released.

In an election which has seen young people of different ethnic persuasion troop out to vote for their candidates, online abuse such as this must not be allowed to take root.
