Voters in Plateau are living in a state of anxiety as news filtered in that the Independent National Electoral Commission has postponed the announcement of election results from two local government areas in the state.

Sources from Jos, the capital of the state say the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Gyang Pwajok is currently leading with close to 30,000 votes but the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Solomon Lalung is said to be leading by a considerable margin in the yet to be announced local governments – Jos North and Wase.

Allegations of bribery have been levelled against officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but none of these have been substantiated.

The Commission has, however, explained that the exercise was postponed due to the non-arrival of results from the previously mentioned local governments.

We shall continue to monitor events in the North Central state and bring you more details as we get them.
