#NigeriaDecides: We give you Jega’s response to PDP’s Godsday Orubebe in 5 quotes

by Isi Esene

After the resumption of proceedings at the INEC collation centre in Abuja, Peoples Democratic Party (APC) agent, Elder Godsday Orubebe took hold of the microphone and vehemently expressed his displeasure at the manner with which the Commission’s chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega’s handled the keenly contested election exercise.

Orubebe accused Jega of partiality implying that the 58-year-old professor is working to deliver the results of the exercise in favour of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

“You are tribalistic! Let the world know that Jega is partial,” he repeatedly said.

Jega, however, promptly responded to the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs allegations and we bring you his response in 5 quotes.

– After the collation exercise yesterday, PDP’s Bello Fadile sent me a text message about a petition and I replied him that all he should send the petition to my office.

– Don’t disrupt an exercise that has ended peacefully.

– You are statesman in your own right, you should be careful about the allegations you make.

– I have started collation, I cannot collect petitions when we are announcing results.

– You are a former minister of the Federal Republic, you should be mindful of your public conduct.
