After the execution of four Nigerians in Indonesia on drug-related crimes, it has been revealed that there are more Nigerians on death row in the country.
According to the Chairperson House Committee on Diaspora matters, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, there are several more Nigerians awaiting execution in Indonesia.
Hon Dabiri-Erewa made the disclosure on Tuesday night, while speaking on Channels Television.
She stated that a federal government delegation which she was part of in 2008 visited Indonesia and discovered that there were 21 Nigerians on death row for drug related offenses.
The lawmaker added that Nigeria could not intervene in the executions because the law in Indonesia clearly and explicitly states that the penalty for drug trafficking is death.
