After hours in the custody of security agents in Abuja, YNaija columnist, Japheth Omojuwa has regained his freedom.
Omojuwa who was arrested while taking part in a peaceful protest against the death of several job-seekers during the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment in Abuja, Niger and Rivers State.
Omojuwa was arrested with Public Relations specialist, Uche Briggs and others who took part in the protest.
While speaking with YNaija, Omojuwa confirmed his release saying, “My phone has been buzzing since my release. I am just trying to rest but I’m okay, I’m fine.”
Thought leaders led by former World Bank Vice President, Oby Ezekwesili called for the release of the arrested protesters stating their position against such actions.

Several respondents have registered their displeasure at the reported manhandling of the arrested individuals.
