YNaija photos: NLC protests in Lagos in defiance of FG, courts

The National Labour Congress (NLC) has defiantly gone against the advise of the Federal Government as well as the ruling of the National Industrial Court and commenced a nationwide strike action following the failure of the government to reduce the hiked price of petrol from N145 per litre to N86 per liter.

The NLC had threatened to go on strike despite negotiations with the Federal Government if the price of fuel is not reduced prompting the government to secure an order from the NIC restraining the union from any of such planned actions.

However, the NLC on Wednesday, May 18 made good of its threat and commenced the strike action nationwide coupled with organised protests against the increase in fuel price.

See pictures of the protest spanning through Maryland, Ikorodu road and Ikeja in Lagos state.
