‘We’ve provided assistance to Nnamdi Kanu since his arrest’ – UK government

Following the letter written by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi kanu, the United Kingdom government says his case has been under observation by its officials.

Kanu- a British citizen, had written a letter through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, urging the British government not to abandon him in incarceration, where he’s been since last year.

The UK government however, disclosed that the Radio Biafra Director has been getting regular visits in prison since October 2015.

Spokesperson for the British High Commission, Joe Abuku, in an email sent to Punch Newspapers, stated that the UK government has provided assistance to Kanu since he was arrested.

“We have provided assistance to Mr. Kanu since his arrest in October last year, including visiting him regularly in prison and attending court appearances in an observation capacity.”
