NNPC boss was supposed to be Jonathan’s Petroleum Minister – Metuh

National publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, has revealed that the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Ibe Kachikwu, was supposed to be Minister of Petroleum two years ago under the last administration.

Metuh disclosed this on Monday, while speaking on Channels Television programme, Sunrise Daily.

“Ibe Kachikwu was supposed to be Minister of Petroleum under PDP 2 years ago, So he is not a new discovery. If the President handles the Petroleum industry and does anything dishonest, we will expose him and tell Nigerians,” he said.

Speaking on the ministerial nominees, the PDP spokesperson said the President chose those he had worked with, knowing fully well where their strength and capacity lies.

“To be sincere, it’s the prerogative of the president to choose his ministers. The president chose people that he has worked with, people that he knows their capacity”

Metuh also stated that discussing the ministerial nominees at this time is completely unnecessary.

“At this time, we are still discussing Ministers as if it’s a big deal. We are now talking about ministerial appointments like that Telemundo show. PDP only has problem with the timing of the list publication not the nominees,” he added.
