The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Yinka Taiwo, says he is optimistic that Nigerians would massively vote for President Goodluck Jonathan at the imminent presidential election.

While speaking at his Iseyin residence on Saturday, February 20, Taiwo said Jonathan’s performance in the last six years of his administration and the giant strides he has recorded in many areas of governance would convince Nigerians to vote for his re-election.

He said: “Objective minded individuals know well that the administration has done well in many spheres and I have no iota of doubt that they will return us to power. Just yesterday, the president commissioned the Olorunsogo II Power Plant which will generate about 750mw of electricity to make life better for us all.”

“In agriculture, farmers are happily getting free fertilizers and seedlings without middle-men. Our hospitals are working again and foreign medical trips have been reduced.”

The PDP chieftain stated that Jonathan becoming president was the best thing that ever happened to Nigeria, while adding that several universities have been established under his watch.

“Our party is not that of any individual, but for the whole nation and by the whole nation. We are public-spirited and we are focused on our journey of transforming Nigeria. We are not driven by selfish interests and Nigerians know that,” Taiwo added.

Speaking further, the chairman implored people of the state to vote for the flag-bearers of the PDP in governorship and other elective positions.
