The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed as false claims by Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim that an official requested a $1m bribe to insert his name as the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 26 governorship election in Ondo, The Punch reports.
Ibrahim had accused the Acting Director, Legal Services Mrs. Toyin Babalola of asking him for bribe following a court order by Justice Okon Abang that he be recognised as the PDP’s candidate for the election.
In a statement by its National Commissioner in charge of Publicity, Mr. Adedeji Soyebi, INEC said Ibrahim’s claims were far from the truth.
