The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, says insurgents of Boko Haram cannot kill him, as he is protected against evil attacks.

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, had in a video released last week, threatened the life of the Emir, whom he says should count himself dead.

The monarch, however, said he could not be harmed, “except it is the will of Allah,” adding, “I am protected and nothing is going to happen to me.”

The Emir of Kano made the statement on Friday, December 19, during a special prayer session held at the Kano City Central Mosque.

Sanusi who presided over the special prayer restated his initial call on the general public to protect themselves against the attacks of the Boko Haram sect.

He urged all Muslim faithful and the followers of Tijjaniyya, Qadiriyya and Izala religious movement to be vigilant and continue to guard themselves and rise against insurgent attacks.

Furthermore, the Emir stated that it is unacceptable for people to abandon their daily deals or desert places of worship because of the fear created by evil doers. He urged all not to succumb to fear and be their brothers’ keepers.

He also implored people to report to security operatives any suspicious action and be bold enough to apprehend any suspicious persons.
