Jonathan, Buhari meet behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa

President Goodluck Jonathan today held a closed-door meeting with the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.

The meeting on Friday which was described as private was held at the new Banquet Hall inside the President’s office at the Aso Rock Villa.

The parley signals commencement of talks over transitional process ahead of the May 29 date for the transfer of power.

This is the first time the two leaders would be meeting since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Buhari the winner of the March 28 Presidential election.

The president-elect will assume power on May 29, 2015.

Presidential Spokesman, Reuben Abati, confirmed that the meeting took place.
