Amaechi left Rivers ‘quietly and shamefully’ – Wike

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday, said Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi hurriedly scampered away from the state after the poor outing of his party, the All Progressives Congress in the recently concluded rerun elections.

Wike also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for not exerting his influence over the elections and being neutral during the exercise.

The governor said the recent polls has shown that ‘Amaechi is not on ground in Rivers state’ while stressing that ‘no Army is stronger than the people’.

Wike spoke in Government House, Port Harcourt while celebrating the ‘landslide victory’ of the Peoples Democratic Party in the rerun elections.

“Amaechi’s plot to rig the rerun elections was for him to rubbish the Supreme Court Judgement. He came back to the state noisily, but left quietly and shamefully.”

“No Army is stronger than the people. No police is stronger than our people. How many times will they cancel elections for the APC. Amaechi is not on ground in Rivers State. Those who were overzealous during the rerun elections did so without the knowledge of the president.”
